2009 US Open Turkey Calling Champion Joins Rutt and Strutt Outfitters

West Plains, MO - JR Lanham is realizing a lifelong dream, by joining his longtime friend and mentor, Alex Rutledge, on the Pro Staff of Rutt and Strutt Outfitters!

Lanham will compete in the finals of the Senior Open this Saturday, at the NWTF Convention, before joining teammate Mitchell Johnston in the 2-man team challenge on Sunday.

For the past three years, Lanham has been a member of the Hunter's Specialties® calling team. Lanham has won several prestigious calling competitions, including the 2009 US Open Turkey Calling Championship, the 2009 Southwest Open Championship, the 2008 National Championship, and three Oklahoma State Calling Championships. In total, Lanham has won or placed in 30 calling competitions.

When asked why he made the decision to join the team at Rutt and Strutt®, Lanham stated: "I've known Alex Rutledge since I was eight or nine years old. He's a longtime friend, and he's obviously someone I've admired in the industry, when he called and asked if I'd be interested - I didn't hesitate. I'm thrilled to be here, this is a great group of people, with a lot of ambition...they've made me feel right at home."

Rutledge added: "JR is one of the best young callers out there, his list of accomplishments speaks for itself -it's hard to believe he's achieved so much in just three years. We feel very fortunate to add him to our team, this is truly exciting for all of us."
