Hunter Ridge Ranch and ADWA Partner for Youth

Working to provide greater youth outdoor education, Hunter Ridge Ranch and the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance will host the First Annual Back Country Adventure Camp in Central Missouri from July 22, 2010 to July 25, 2010.

Held at the scenic 3,000-acre Hunter Ridge Ranch in Camdenton, Mo., the Back Country Adventure Camp will welcome young outdoor enthusiasts (ages 9-15) for three fun-filled days of hiking, fishing, boating, outdoor cooking, taxidermy, wildlife photo safari, swimming, campfires and much more.

“We’re excited to support ADWA’s efforts to increase the overall accessibility of the outdoors for children,” says Oscar Hunter, owner and founder of Hunter Ridge Ranch. “We strongly believe that the future of our outdoor industry lies with our next generation and we want to do whatever we can to help introduce hunting and fishing experiences and give our kids a greater connection to wildlife and nature.”

One of the hunting industry’s best kept secrets, Hunter Ridge Ranch is considered a premier destination for sportsmen looking for a world-class outdoor experience. Hunter Ridge provides excellent trophy hunting and fishing opportunities, breathtaking scenery and personalized service that are more similar to a five-star resort than it is to most other hunting lodges.

Space is limited for camp attendance. The program is free of charge. For applications or more information, call Paula Bates at 636.488.5644.

“One of ADWA’s primary missions has been to encourage youth involvement in the outdoors by creating greater accessibility, and the support we’ve received from Hunter Ridge Ranch has been beyond generous,” says John Meng, president of ADWA, a non-profit organization working to promote the deer and wildlife industry. “Rampant urbanization and the disintegration of the family are causing many of our outdoor traditions to fade into obscurity. However, with the help of concerned sportsmen and businesses, like Hunter Ridge, we can continue to help our youth understand the great rewards, as well as the responsibilities, that come with hunting, fishing, camping or simply being a steward to the land — traditions which are uniquely American and which have defined us as a nation for centuries.”

Nestled deep in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri, Hunter Ridge Ranch features a 1,000-acre reserve and 2,000 acres of free-range property that is home to some of the largest whitetail trophy deer in the world, plus magnificent elk, red stag, buffalo and fallow deer. Hunter Ridge Ranch also provides fishing in Lake Niangua full of bass, crappie, catfish and blue gill, along with pristine conditions for excellent duck and turkey hunting. Above all, Hunter Ridge Ranch fully caters to its guests’ individual needs to make their visit a truly memorable experience.
